Ok, I found the reason why it needs to be builtin: The MP2 driver itself as module does work, but if we want the i2c touchpad uses it as transport, the MP2 driver has to be loaded before i2c-hid gets probed. Unfortunately both of them uses ACPI device ID to match, so the i2c-hid may get loaded before MP2. AFAIK, there's no good way to guarantee the module loading ordering, so make MP2 builtin is the only approach I can think of.
