Hi,

 This quick update supersedes v3 as I have noticed that our test harness
does not automatically provide for `mtrace' support.  I have added the 
explicit arrangements required then.

 There is now a prerequisite change to support/check.h for the test case 
to use, so this has become a mini patch series.  See individual change 
descriptions and discussions for details.

 This has been verified with the `powerpc64le-linux-gnu' native system and 
then the same host and the `riscv64-linux-gnu', `mips-linux-gnu', and 
`alpha-linux-gnu' targets.

 Any further questions, comments or concerns?  Otherwise OK to apply?
