The reason I did it this way, is that this doesn't explicitly just apply to T114. It actually applies to T114, T124 and T132. In that case, I think it makes sense to keep the QUIRK and I can update the commit description to reflect that. Thanks! -rhyland >

The above seems like a reasonable optimization to do! Now, since $subject patch has been applied, I suggest you send a new patch addressing this issue.
