CTERA has announced Next3 on Tuesday, see my blog post at: http://blog.ctera.com/2010/06/story-of-next3-and-thin-provisioned.html I wanted to thank you for helping me finalize the on-disk format in time for the announcement and I hope you will get around to reviewing the patches soon. For now, the assignments should avoid collisions with other new work that people might want to do on ext3/4.
